In a matter of two years (mostly during the pandemic, mind you), Shou Sugi Ban House went straight to #1 as it was just named the best destination spa in the US and has become a true wellness enclave in the Hamptons.
The first opened in May 2019 in Water Mill, New York and the Japanese-inspired wellness retreat now has an additional location, Shou Sugi Ban Inn (an expansion of the original property) that also includes two A-list approved private residences connecting the two properties.
The Shou Sugi Ban Inn is geared towards clients looking for the more quintessential Hamptons weekend experience with trips to the beach, hotspot restaurants, and stops at wineries all along the way, whereas the House is more of an à la carte approach in how you would like to experience this location. Of course, both offer a serene, Japanese-influenced atmosphere. With only five rooms which includes three suites, the Inn leads to the House (via a private stone path where) you can access all of the House’s spa and wellness services and treatments.
As mentioned, not only the Inn but two five-star luxury private residences have just opened on the property and can be serviced by a private chef and offer discretion for anyone looking to get away from the spotlight for a bit. The first residence is a five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom retreat sitting on an acre and a half nested by a tennis court and a 40-foot pool. The second residence, boasts seven bedrooms and five bathrooms with a yard and garden patio.
The Shou Sugi Ban properties offer a peaceful and tranquil retreat and are awaiting your arrival.
